re: Portrait of Newburgh

My paintings zoom in on Dmitri Kasterine’s Newburgh: Portrait of a City, a series of photos which were exhibited on the side of the Safe Harbors Green for over ten years. The photos had become severely time and weather beaten and were de-installed in August 2026. My work seeks to preserve at least fragments of these Newburghers of the past and connect it to the future. (Oil paintings on canvas, each 24x 30 inches with attached construction mesh.)

View of Dmitri Kasterine’s Portrait of a City, a powerful collection of photos taken in the 1990s. The whole collection is available in book form through various used books web vendors.
